i spied this video on someone's facebook last week and got a real kick out of it. i just love this kid. i like to imagine there's a little bit of him inside of me, constantly groovin'. and i really wish he would pop into my office right now and teach me how to dance like that.

legendary
the news of elizabeth taylor's death has left me feeling rather sad today. beyond my childhood love for national velvet and my white diamonds replica barbie, i was never a die-hard fan. still, it just seems terribly wrong that such an icon is gone.
i wish i could fly home next weekend just to cuddle up on the couch with my mommy and watch the liz marathon on tcm.

the element of surprise
... there's really nothing like it. and meg watcher does a great job exploiting it through photography in her project entitled, "Dumped!"
what i really enjoy about this project are the various expressions that having food (or soap) dumped on your head, apparently elicit. it looks kinda fun, doesn't it?

agricultural art
i'm loving these satellite photos of various crops from around the world. some are so visually dynamic that they could be framed or used as textile patterns, i think. and while i never tire from the surrounding wheat fields and vineyards here in eastern washington, these photos lend a different perspective (literally) to living in an agricultural town.

ooh la la temperley
to say that i am obsessed with weddings would be an understatement. i can spend three hours straight on weddinggawker, no sweat. and after months upon months of searching through literally thousands of weddings on various blogs, i found my absolute dream wedding.** little did i know that i had also found my dream designer. while i'll wait until later this week to share that gem of a wedding, i couldn't help but investigate further into the designs of alice temperley. i just love the ephemeral, loose, light, goddess-like look of these dresses.
** just to clarify, i am not engaged and there is absolutely no logical reason i should be as obsessed as i am. i think i really scare my boyfriend sometimes.

pretty brightness
when i was designing and planning my high school prom back in the day, the theme i wanted to go with was "pretty brightness." it was mostly for convenience' sake since the idea invoked everything i thought a party should be. alas, my committee was unamused and we instead went with a french theme (eiffel tower ice sculpture and all.) had i not been outvoted however, i'm pretty sure every attendee would have left with a pair of these:
and they would've been pretty lucky.
these earrings have got everything going for them:
pretty? check.
pink? check.
sparkly? check.
vintage? check.
sign me up.
i've really never been able to resist the siren call of the rhinestone. seriously, if it was socially acceptable i would bedazzle everything i own.

it's a party
i couldn't help but share these pretty pictures from this awesome party shoot. Melanie from You Are My Fave always has the funnest, spunkiest event designs and this one sure does not disappoint. i seriously can't even begin to explain how badly i want to be invited to one of her parties...

march = spring, right?
it's official. i am sick of winter. it's absolute gloomsville here and after driving in sleet and snow through the columbia gorge yesterday, i definitely needed a photo like this to brighten my day. now all i need is a little sun, about 25 more degrees and some passion ice tea!
